Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema are long-term absentees for Arsenal, with the pair both sidelined with ACL ruptures.

Kim Little returned to action from the bench against Zurich in Arsenal’s final match of 2022 following over a month on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Gunners have brought in three new faces this January: Victoria Pelova, Kathrine Kuhl and Sabrina D’Angelo, while Gio Queiroz has been recalled from Everton.

Pernille Harder remains sidelined for Chelsea with a hamstring injury sustained in November. Emma Hayes confirmed the squad was otherwise in good shape.

Melanie Leupolz returned to Chelsea training at the beginning of January after giving birth to her first child in October.

Both teams have been almost flawless in the league this season, each losing just a solitary game.

Chelsea turned in their best performance of the campaign in their final outing before the winter break with a 3-0 win over PSG. Arsenal contended well with their extensive list of injuries and will be boosted by the return of a fully fit Kim Little plus three January arrivals.

It promises to be an entertaining encounter but there may be nothing to separate the two sides, leaving the title race hanging in the balance.

    Prediction: Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea
