Inter are the last Italian team to win the Champions League, triumphing in 2010 under Jose Mourinho. This is the first time they have reached the quarter finals since 2011, with Benfica their second consecutive Portuguese opponents after seeing off Porto.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side have deficiencies but have been electric in Europe so far. Fortune favours the Bavarians here, with the Germans predicted to leave the Etihad with a sturdy first leg lead before finishing the job with a draw at the Allianz Arena.

AC Milan and Napoli are on the same side of the draw as Inter and Benfica and will avoid the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid until the final. However, they were knocked out at this stage of the competition by the same team last season and the evidence here points to another win for Carlo Ancelotti and Real, eventually coming through the tie as 4-1 aggregate winners thanks to victories both home and away.
