Jeff Brazier has announced that he and wife Kate Dwyer decided to end their marriage earlier this year.

The TV star, 43, took to Instagram to share a statement where he spoke out about the loneliness he’s felt since ending his marriage to Kate, and told how he and his two sons, Bobby, 19, and Freddie, 18, have recently moved to a new home.

Jeff, who shares his two sons with the late Jade Goody, dated PR manager Kate for five years before the couple tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Portugal in 2018.

The dad-of-two has previously been open about he and Kate’s relationship troubles, admitting that seeing a councillor helped to salvage their marriage.

The couple faced difficulties prior to the coronavirus lockdown, and Jeff told in an interview with New! that both he and Kate had benefitted hugely from couple’s therapy.

“Kate and I are better than we have ever been or could have ever expected to be. We had couple’s therapy and we wouldn’t be together now without it.

“It’s not because you need help to realise that you love each other, it’s just because you need to know simple skills like conflict resolution,” he told the magazine.

Fans noticed that Jeff and Kate had unfollowed each other on social media in 2019 after hitting a rocky patch early on in their marriage, but they soon resolved their issues.

However, on 19 December Jeff announced he and Kate had called it quits for good and opened up about he is navigating his new life without his wife by his side.

He penned an emotional statement which began: “A moment to practice what I preach and start the new week with honesty. One for the smilers and eternally positive individuals who don’t often afford themselves the right to share their own vulnerabilities.

“I have so much to be grateful for and I appreciate facing the lessons I need to grow but this year has been challenging to say the least.

“My 9 year relationship ended earlier in the year and I’ve been working through that on top of supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult.”

He continued: “The boys and I have recently moved home to a new area & I spend most of the time alone as the boys obviously have their own things going on.

“It’s been constant change this year and I’m good with adapting but the combination of things have left me low at times and I’ve honestly never felt loneliness like it. Can we put Christmas back a few months?!”

Jeff went on to say that he needs to “resist the life long temptation to deal with everything on my own” as he shared his hopes of having a better balance of giving support and being supported into the new year.
