The HC-X1000 features a Leica Dicomar lens, and Panasonic says that despite its compact body, the 4K UHD camcorder features a focus ring, zoom ring, and iris ring on the lens barrel. It supports the avchd recording format, alongside mov and mp4. Panasonic is also touting its compact lenses and space-saving drive range that have allowed it to fit a 20x optical zoom in the body.

Speaking on the launch, Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India, said, “With technology constantly changing it allows our brand to push boundaries and create new and exciting products that are customized according to the needs and requirements of the Indian market.”
